China Beauty Expo 2019 will add a new pavilion to showcase fast-growing European and American product categories. The 24th edition of China Beauty Expo will be held in the Shanghai New International Expo Center between May 20-22, 2019. One of the world’s largest beauty industry events, the expo will attract more than 3,500 cosmetics companies from over 40 countries and regions. Over 500,000 beauty industry professionals are expected to participate in the expo’s 100 events and forums.
During 2018, China chalked up another year of import and export growth. Customs data indicates that the total value of imports reached RMB 10,42 trillion during the first three quarters of 2018, a 14.1% increase over the prior year period. These products came from over 200 countries and regions. During the same period, imports of cosmetics far outpaced overall market growth, leaping to RMB 65.billion, a 67.5% year-on-year increase.
According to a recent report from Amazon, European, American, and Japan, and South Korean brands all hold similar shares of the cosmetics and skincare market. However, European and American products appear positioned to pull ahead. Younger consumers seem particularly interested in niche products from Europe and the US. At the same time, Germany, Britain, France, Spain and Italy are among the top 10 countries where younger consumers purchase imported products. They’re also several of the fastest growing sources of products on Tmall Global.
Nielsen CCdata also shows a growth in demand for European and American cosmetics imports among Chinese consumers.
To respond to these rising demands for European and American beauty products, China Beauty Expo 2019 will launch its E9 pavilion in May. France, Germany, Poland, Singapore, Spain and other European and American countries have organized groups to exhibit in E9 pavilion.
Under the banner, “Fashion and Beauty”, the E9 pavilion will showcase brands that include PANTHER GROUP, NATUTEK, COSMETIC VALLEY, BIOSTHETIQUE INTERNATIONAL, ISIS PHARMA, LYSEDIA, SLOW COSMETIQUES, THEOPHILE BERTHON, BEIHAO, UNIQ 10UE, HR Handels GmbH, Derma Futur GmbH, Beijing HuoliSanyi, BMWi/AUMA, Böckling Health GmbH · neobömi, Bolin GmbH, ARKANA, BIOXUS, NATURELLA, PHARMANN.
In addition, some imported products not yet available on Chinese e-commerce platforms will debut at China Beauty Expo 2019.
The E9 pavilion will also host activities that highlight the new retail experience for consumers.
The Spanish National Pavilion also will hold a grand opening ceremony that includes Spanish food and wine tasting. ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Consulate of Spain in Shanghai will co-organize the event held in the new pavilion at 12:00 on May 20th. Other national pavilions will also use the expo to display their unique customs and cultures.
