December, 2018 marked 40 years since China began its economic reform movement. China’s beauty industry has ridden four decades of growth and progressive development. China Beauty Expo (CBE) has been important indicator of growth in the industry since its launch in 1998. For CBE, 2019 marks another step forward as it brings together professional beauty, cosmetics, “cosmetech” – or beauty supply chain to create one of the world’s largest forums for beauty innovation.
Shanghai, “known as the Paris of the East” is China’s biggest trading hub and the entry point for 53% of China’s imported cosmetics.
CBE’s professional beauty segment brings together an unrivaled set of trade opportunities for salons, spas, and beauty service providers across China.
In 2018, CBE’s parent company, Informa, acquired UBM, making Informa the world’s largest beauty expo organizer. Now, CBE and Cosmoprof Asia are joining hands to present Asia’s leading international expo.
Informa’s beauty expos cover all segments of the beauty industry, including packaging, contract manufacturing, raw materials, services, oral cosmetics, perfumes, fitness and spa treatments, hair care and health care. The World Congress on Anti-aging Medicine and Regenerative Biomedical Technologies Expo, an Informa affiliate, is a leading event in the medical cosmetology industry. Each year the annual congress held in Monaco attracts more than 9,000 doctors from around the world.
CBE 2018’s Professional Beauty exhibition attracted more than 500 global beauty companies and more than 3,000 local and international beauty brands from 40 countries and regions, including the US, Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The exhibition was held in Halls E2, E3, E4, E5, and E6 of Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
At the CBE Professional Expo, you’ll find leading international brands purchased by China’s top 100 salons, state-of-the-art medical cosmetology equipment from Europe and the US, and cutting-edge anti-aging technology from Japan and Korea.
In 2019, CBE will add the CBE International Beauty Hall to expand the scope of CBE’s Professional Beauty exhibition and help visitors capture a greater piece of China’s growing RMB 220 billion medical beauty market.
From 20 to 22 May 2019, CBE will host a range of events including the 2019 International Cosmetic Aesthetic & Dermatology Forum, the Biological and Medical Beauty Cooperation Summit, and the 3rd International Medical Cosmetology Innovation Forum.
Building on its database of hundreds of thousands of beauty buyers from around the world, CBE has created the CBE Beauty Merchants Service Center. CBE covers a broad range of retail and distribution channels including beauty chains, spas, beauty clubs, medical cosmetology and plastic surgery centers, anti-aging centers, hair salons, manicure and lash shops, and beauty training institutions.
Extending its reach through Asia, CBE has developed a powerful alliance of Asia Pacific buyers, including the Thailand Cosmetics Industry Association, Malaysia Manufacturing Association, American Personal Care Products Council, Indonesia Cosmetics Association, Singapore Healthcare Association, VOCA, Japan Cosmetics Center, Philippine Cosmetics Industry Association, Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei, and Taiwan Cosmetics GMP Industry Development Association.
Sang Ying, Executive Vice President of China Beauty Expo, said that CBE introduces the world’s best technologies, products, beauty concepts, and lifestyles to China each year. In 2019, CBE will “cover all aspects of the beauty sector while targeting priorities” to assure that players in the beauty industry can truly enjoy its innovative resources and benefit from its globalization.
CBE 2019’s Professional Beauty exhibition will highlight the expansion, internationalization and upscaling of its professional beauty segment. It will include the Asia Manicure and Lash Care Alliance, association that combines the resources of China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and 10 ASEAN countries. The 2019 Asia Nail & Lash Care Art Culture Festival is poised to become the new center of manicure and lash care culture in Asia.
