On September 13, 2017, China Beauty Expo (CBE) met with the press and beauty industry professionals in Milan, Italy. With the theme “Connect with China’s Beauty Market”, CBE covered highlights from China’s market, ranging from product registration to emerging distribution channels. The press conference attracted over 30 Italian suppliers of cosmetics products who are interested in doing business in China.
China Beauty Market Insights
Opening the conference, Ying Sang, Secretary-General of China Beauty Expo, presented Insights on Cosmetics Market and Trends in China, including the new economy, new retailing, new consumption and new markets. CBE also released two exclusive reports, 16 Secrets of the New Generation of Consumers and Top 10 Insights of New Retailing in Chinese Cosmetics Specialty Stores. These reports provided attendees with an in-depth picture of Chinese Millennial preferences and effective distribution strategies.
Product Registration Know-how
As a first market entry requirement, product registration is a important topic for international cosmetic brands. CBE invited Dr. Shu Zhang, a lecturer and national authority on product registration from Hefei Polytechnic University to present Regulatory Challenge for Cosmetic Introduction in China. Dr. Zhang shared an overview of a CHMR regulatory framework, key steps in the pre-market entry procedures, specific challenges for successful registration, trends and new policies that favor imported cosmetics, and agent collaboration strategies.
Emerging Distribution Channel Analysis
The conference presentation on Cross-border E-commerce which discussed growing online distribution opportunities for imported products generated a lively discussion. Simone Perversi, Managing Director for Fiorpharma Srl and public relations representative for Italy and European zone for Aroma Star International Trade discussed the status of cross-border e-commerce. He presented four distribution trends in China’s online beauty sector: shopping on cross-border e-commerce sites, social network marketing, online celebrities and live streaming, and new retailing.
Global Investment from the World’s Biggest Beauty Platform
Wrapping up the conference, Claudia Bonfiglioli, International Director of China Beauty Expo, introduced the Three-Year International Investment in CBE, a program which is designed to expand services and benefits for global buyers. First, CBE’s expanded, COSMETECH segment will bring entire cosmetics manufacturing and supply chain in Asia to global buyers. Second, the match-making meetings and events will help sellers connect with targeted distributors. Third, CBE’s series of world-class events will provide the new and exclusive information to buyers. Last, CBE’s three new sectors bring the latest fashion, science, and technology to global beauty professionals. These include: Hall N4 (Premium Packaging and Colors), Hall N5 (Tomorrow’s Beauty Trends) and Hall N6 (Advanced Science and Innovation) at China Beauty Expo 2018.
